I start all my scores off at 10 and look for things that make it not be a 10. To me, it looks like you've tried to sharpen a photo that was not quite in perfect focus. ( I know, it's star trails and they sometimes have that look.) It looks over-sharpened to me but still a very lovely photo. 8

The photo is excellent. However, I feel that most of it's excellence is more focused on the buildings rather then the 'Night Sky'. But, I know how that goes as I live in the brightest city in the world and the night sky has all but disappeared. I should give the photo a 9 even though it's really a 9.5. Since there is no 9.5 I'll just round it up to 10. Ok?

This is an excellent, emotive photo to me. It is very Ansel Adamsish I think. As much as I want to give it a 10, for this challenge and in all fairness, I think the boats are over-powered by the mountains. I'll go with an 8.

I wanted to score your photo at 10. I'm not expert but I see two things that are keeping me from doing that. I think the horizon/vertical are leaning a little to the left and the sky (top left) could have been smoothed out just a tad: it looks kind of pixelated to me. Despite those two knit-picky things I'm still going to score it pretty high at 8.

My original score was 8 only because some of the other 'Boat' photos were very, very good with super nice backdrops and stuff. But now, at second look, I see nothing in your photo that should prevent it from being a 10. So, there you have it: 10.
