Your idea is fine for a triptych, but the varying focal points are really odd. I think the cartons don't help your composition, either.

I'm sorry to hear the horse is grieving, but aside from the caption this doesn't grab my attention. I also think the blue frame is a terrible aesthetic choice, both for the color (it doesn't go with the subject; an earth-tone would probably be better) and composition-wise.

I don't mind that you have four photos in a triptych, but you get a "3" for laziness! Why have more than one photo if they all are the same? Four shots of the same car, from the same tourist-stance angle, taken at pretty much the same time (judging by the people in the background). If the car is moving it doesn't show, and if it is standing still than why not get a little creative: show a close-up of the number, or the driver, or the hubcup? This doesn't *reveal* anything. Sorry if I sound harsh, but I know you can do better than this, whoever you are! :-)

Beautiful triptych. Each photo stands on its own, yet they work well together. Connected thematically and visually, yet with enough variety to warrant their inclusion. A 10 from me and one of my top two favorites in the challenge. Good luck!

On first round, I give this best in show! The b&w has depth and adds to the mood (it seems like so many times it is used in an attempt to make art out of a bad photo). A strong 10 from me. Good luck!

Edit: Yup, best in show, with "he sleeps well" a close second. I'm sure you'll both do well.

MAK, I hope there aren't people who intentionally vote low when they recognize a style ("trolling")... and I certainly hope there aren't five! I think it's more likely that people saw something they hated, or thought they should hate: the presence of food, the presence of humor, the presence of a style of post-processing they don't like... who knows?

I agree with you completely about the kind of photo that deserves a 1, by the way. It looks like a lot of good photographers have to suffer idiot voters. C'est la vie dp, apparently!
