Day 39by kellyrc01Comment: Nice story. I hope summer school ended successfully for you. The photo is very nicely composed, and it's good there's no "tilt." Did you run a denoise program? It seems a little oversmoothed. Sometimes it's good to run denoise just on the sky (in this case it should be fairly easy to select the sky using your magic wand tool). If I'm way off base, just ignore this advice! :-) |

Da Kat (Day 39)by karmatComment: As long as someone is always around to feed her, why not have an office cat? I'm sure she'll come in when it gets cold. Of course, if everyone feeds her she's going to get fat. :-)
When I was a teenager, a stray took up residence in my dad's store. It actually brought in customers. |

40day4629by Pug-HComment: I love the fact that Japan's pop culture doesn't completely overlap with the west's. Good job of showing everything in focus with nothing over or under exposed. |

day-39.jpgby KenComment: I like the contrast between her pretty blue eyes and the synthetic pink and blue colors around her. Nice lighting on her face, and good clarity. |

Day No. 39by GermaineComment: This makes me think of the movie "Chinatown." I like that there is nothing contemporary intruding in the photo (well, maybe the road surface -- when was asphalt concrete invented?) ;-)

Reaching Outby h2Comment: 82 out of 646 isn't bad, but I thought this should have scored better (I was one of your three 10s). Not to take away from the accomplishments of others, but I think this is superior to the other snail shot, which got 19th place. It makes no sense to me. However, trying to figure out voters is a losing game, so... keep up the good work!

Kharunisia by librodoComment: Congratulations, Manny. I'm happy to have been one of your 10s (one of five I gave out). All the top entries deserve their kudos, but to me this was best in show from the start. |

The Summit by MAKComment: Congrats, Marac. I'm happy to have been one of your 10s (one of five I gave out). It is rather biblical, now that you mention it. The tiny tree-like plants, combined with the shooting angle, make these goats seem like giants. Great job on the b&w tones. |

Athol Fugard among the rosesby jblaylockraynerComment: I thought this was really interesting, and yes, very much like "a magazine shoot" -- and I mean that was a compliment! I feel this should have done much better (I was one of your 9's). |
