This is an excellent image of a knife. Unfortunately it pretty much completely misses the point of the challenge.

Great details on those water droplets. I hope to see your work in future challenges.

The bokeh here does providea nice background which complements the subject and sets it apart. Focus on the bird could be much better, and you could try different crops on this to compose the scene for more impact.

I'm not sure how this is supposed to represent power. There is also some banding in the small sliver of the sky which is not jet black. Good luck!

Nice bokeh which does complement the subject (how could it not when it is part of the subject after all? lol).

Sharper focus on the center part of the flower would work better here, and possible a different composition getting the center of the flower out of the center of the frame.

Nice simple idea for the challenge. This would work much better were it sharper. I see your camera settings show an aperture of F8 - this seems very narrow for an arm shot as there really isn't a lot of depth to deal with. The aperture probably forced you into that very slow shutter speed which then translated into a bit of blurriness throughout the shot.

Could consider playing with some different poses for that arm as well. Straight up, bent at the elbow, etc.

Good idea, probably didn't execute as well as it could have but you said it was a last minute shot and, yes, those don't tend to do too well usually.

Good luck!

I'm not sure what you mean by great lighting. Certainly this is brightly lit.

The glare spots on the plant and the harsh shadows being cast are generally the antithesis of great lighting. Lighting should complement the subject and provide no distractions.

I am wondering if your camera was set on auto mode here? Very odd combination of settings and partly responsible for the shot being a bit overexposed and an aperture which kept an awful lot of detail in the background at the expense of more bokeh.

Don't think the bokeh here, what there is of it, really enhances the subject. The subject is so pronounced in the frame that the background really doesn't get much play, and thus no chance to really add to the shot overall.

The oof areas certainly enhance the subject and give a strong sense of depth to the image. The rope itself is overexposed. I like the angle you shot (or cropped) this on as well. Nice details on the hands.

Very nice. Has an (dare I say it) impressionist feel to it. The bokeh perfectly complements and enhances the subject. Nice lighting too, I like how the subject is highlighted.

not a lot of excitement here, but as far as sticking to the challenge I think you really nailed it. The bokeh really does enhance the subject. The logo of the bike popsout of the image, and then the bokeh behind still leaves enough impression of the rest of the bike to complete the image.

Nice job!

While the intention of the photo was to make the couple happy, once you entered it here the game changed, yes? I have to wonder what point there is in entering a scoring contest if you don't care about the score? Perhaps you were being overly dramatic ;).

I think the girlpower theme was an amusing take on the challenge topic and the pose does a good job of capturing that spirit. Perhaps a crop that gave the girls all the real estate and didn't make them share half the frame with the sky would give their poses and facial expressions even more impact.
