Singer with new lightby QuigleyComment: I saw your lighting setup with the big reflectors. Can you post what exactly it is you are trying to acheive with your lighting setup for this shot?
Also I would get down and shoot this from the front or maybe just slightly above. Could also try shooting it from an angle to the right side to show off that dunkly looking back, but either way I would avoid top-down. It always looks like the person just walked up to something, pointed the camera down and clicked. |

Not much bokeh here if any. The lighting is not working in your favor here. MAcro shots really need technical perfection to have impact. |

Nice bit of bokeh in the background. I would concentrate on making sure your focus is accurate, trying different compositionts and add a bit of contrast to the shot to give the statue some life. |

The bokeh doesa nicejob hereof causing the model to pop out of the image.
Composition here is a bit odd, could try cropping so the face is either prominent in the scene or located elsewhere in the frame.
Model's expression is... odd. Normally I say 'well what can you do about that model', but here I se eit's your kid so there's no excuse! ;)
To be honest I'm not sure why this score a 4.9. It's not the most exciting image, but it certainly isn't that bad (and doesn't merit ten 3 votes by any stretch of the imagination).
Good luck! |

I think the bokeh works well here even if the background is still a bit heavy on detail.
The flower appears to float on that sea of green. Flower itself could be a bit crisper.
Overall, very nice shot. |

This shot scored well and for good reason. Thing I liked best about this was the stunning a mount of detail on the tounge. Very nicely done. |

Nebulous connection to the challenge imo. Photo is interesting but could use much more contrast. Also the gator could be in better focus. Overall, not bad. |

I really like the flare and the overall lighting is superb. had you gotten the milkweed in crisp focus, this shot would really pop. |

This was quite nice and certainly met the challenge. It's score and placing were both well deserved - what more is there to say? |

Same result for the powerful and weakby sunny7Comment: Critique Club feedback -
Nice subject for the challenge. Things to consider would be shooting from a lower angle so the cross is surrounded by the sky and both it and the image overall not split in half by the horizon line. Also worth avoiding tilted horizons when possible. Easy enough to rotate the image a bit. |
