As I'm browsing through the pages of b/w side challenge images, I have to say I'm finding myself repeatedly popping open thumbnails to see that the images belong to you. These are my kind of photos. I'm not a huge fan of texture overlays, but the images themselves are so strong and work so well in b/w that it hardly matters.

Thank goodness for side challenges so stuff like this can get a little play on the site.

Great details and rich tones. Slightly wider dof might have worked a bit better as his skin tones are so close to the background that his shoulders tend to melt away into the bokeh in a somewhat unsettling fashion.

Great tones and processing. Only thing I don't like about this shot is the composition. I think it keeps this shot from having as much impact as it could.

The interesting bits are the hair and eyes, and they can't compete against the ocean of bland facial areas dominating the shot. Face looks a bit flat also, might try changing your lighting so one side or the other isn't so bright.

Something disconcerting going on with the right cheek in the frame, it almost looks like it is reflecting hair or was accidentally whacked with the clone tool while the skin was being worked on. Nice shot. Decent job on the skin, little too much on the eyes. No attention appears to have been paid to all the stray hairs surrounding the head. Focus is nice.

Not voting just commenting. Nice composition and does have a magazine shot sort of quality to it. Lighting could be just a bit brighter.
