The choice of rope to use for here wasn't so good, title not withstanding. Very shiny, not a lot of detail. The rope itself is begging to be overexposed, and that does appear to have happened up on the top. The composition is good though I'd like to see the noose centered perfectly in the shot. I think this would do much better shot with a more rough looking piece of rope, thicker, darker in color so that a lot of detail comes out to contrast against the menacing black background.

Subject here is the road. So your image has a subject. This challenge idea sucks though, so I'm voting just based on the photo which is very nice. Love the processing. Very spooky looking. 8. Maybe whoever suggested this challenge idea is under one of those stones.

Hope you held one of these back for the silhouette challenge! Very interesting shadow work here that my eye finds appealing. The background is just a little too in-focus to the extent that there is enough detail back there to make things a bit busy overall. This is defintely one of the more unique shots I have seen, nice work.
