Great capture of expression. Very deep blacks, nice tonal range overall.

I want to give this technique a try myself, but haven't yet got around to it. Nicely done - how on earth did you take such a shot and not have captured any people in it? If they're there I haven't spotted them yet, or maybe you cloned them out. :)

Nice movement in the frame and good expressions, also good that their expressions seem to be matched - that is, concentrating on something in the same direction. Almost makes you want to turn around to see what they're looking at. ;)

I wouldn't crop it, since I think the lady stepping away at the top is good for the composition - maybe if the dog was more stark against the background, i.e., with no dark-panted legs just behind him, the composition would have more impact. But that's more about capture, not processing, I guess - not helpful. :) Let me try again - maybe you could try to lighten up the dog a bit, to see more detail in the curls of fur and perhaps make him stand out a bit more from what's just behind him, and also clone out the metal, distracting, parts of the bag just above his head.

And I agree with Artyste that street photography take a certain knack - not for the socially anxious, like me. LOL You have a real eye for these types of shots and I enjoy what you come up with.

Very nice catch and good details. :) Although it is a sign of how differently we think about things in this country that my first thought was "who in the world would leave their kid out on the sidewalk unattended like that"?

Such an artfully arranged pile of junk! :) I like how you composed this in the frame and you got good detail from the worn metals. I've seen this wheel before - did you post this where it was bright blue?

Unfortunate with the flag obscuring her face, but with a candid like this you can't have everything. You have a very nice range of tones here in her skin despite the harsh light. This is a kind of photo that could invoke a lot of different emotional interpretations - looked at one way, she kind of has an anguished look on her face - without your mention that this was a spectator at a parade, her facial expression could be interpreted differently. The image makes you stop and think about it a bit.

Usually having such a busy shot can be a problem, but what I like about b&w is that you can just make it a study of textures and be ok - the chaos works here, and you've got enough range of tone to bring out the textures very well. This would very likely be a visual mess if it were in color.

You have a cool little Gilliam-esque thing going on here, I like it. Would have liked to see a bit more contrast/detail in the tree bark, but overall I think this is quite an interesting shot.

Lines and shapes all over the place here - you have a good eye for shadow play and that's really good for b&w. I especially like how the railing diamonds are just ever so slightly visible on the darker left-hand side of the image. Good to leave in the street scene and pedestrians up top to give context to what we're looking at.
