B&W - Day 8by mkComment: You should apologize to him too, he looks perturbed. :P I like the focus on this - I would suggest cropping out that tiny bit in the foreground (bottom of image) that's blurry to make all of the foreground startlingly sharp in contrast with the background (which will have the added benefit of making the cat just a little less centered). :) This cat is just enough of a tiger to make b&w a good choice - all those contrasty lines are very nice indeed. |

Day 8 - Groundedby meneleComment: Very nice candid - leaving in so much of the wall expanse increases the sense of isolation. Good contrast and detail. |

9by sevilduvarciComment: The first thing I thought of was those thought bubbles over people's heads in cartoons - the bubbles well above the fountain don't look like they are in front of the people. This is a neat shot and makes you look twice - nice sharpness overall and good variety in your subjects' poses. |

Moon Struckby BrianRComment: Quite an otherworldly feel to it - would fit in quite well as a sci fi book jacket illustration. |

They grow up so fastby MelethiaComment: That poor mama must be tired to have raised all those at once - hope she takes next year off to rest. :) This is a sweet arrangement and each image is shot well. |

Double Churnedby xianartComment: You know, I thought of that stove pic when I saw this and thought this might be you. Love the colors here and the light. |

Going Homeby levyj413Comment: Not a bad looking place to have to be when you're not at home! Nice mystery in the darker parts and the overall coloring has a nostalgic quality to it, although I'll admit I would prefer the backpack were not there - too distracting.
And I really like the inclusion of motion blur for the human part of this shot - for me, it emphasizes the ephemeral quality of human life just "passing through" these solid examples of classic architecture. |

Wright Flyer Three-Viewby posthumousComment: I thought "Close Encounters" when I first saw it, the symbols on the left looking like some sort of alien hieroglyphics. Did not know about the Wright Flyer three-view before - I like how you tried to approximate a bird with the three-view and the dramatic sky gives the whole image a portentous quality.
It would be interesting to see another try at this shot without the plane, and with the three views placed randomly across the whole expanse of the sky (well, it might be *visually* interesting, but conceptually not so much - since I guess the inclusion of the plane was necessary for the Wright brothers connection). Nevermind, I'm babbling about possibilities again. :) |
