Tajby shalrathComment: You've got a really nice subject/texture pairing here; would suggest trying to mask out the texture from the actual building areas itself, to see how that might change the effect of the image. Actually, while I sit here looking at it more, you might experiment with masking out certain other areas to see what happens then - I'm thinking here especially of the bright white cloud areas, maybe being lightly masked out (some percentage below 100, to taste) to see how it makes things "pop out" of the shot. |

by nixterComment: Wow, really nice atmospheric shot - I get such a sense of the surroundings beyond the frame, with just hints of their presence here. |

by nixterComment: Makes me wonder about what was going on here at the moment of capture, was he aware of the camera, and trying to duck out of your shot? Was he deliberately posing, so as to place himself squarely under the graffiti? Did he spot a quarter on the sidewalk just at that moment? and on and on... I like the tones and moment of capture, the only thing that bugs me a bit is that, for this shot at least, with the serendipitous foreground action, I'd prefer the background to be a little more controlled and symmetrical - those stark archways are just screaming to be squarely placed in the composition. I don't always need that to be the case, so I'm not sure why with this shot I feel this way, but there it is... |

A Great Expectation by rinacComment: Was one of your many, many 10s - this was a smart, well-shot take on this challenge. Congrats! |

Pandemonium erupted as Gorby introduced social reforms.by seeComment: Yay! I was one of your 10s, thought this was absolutely brilliant. Now that you mention it, definitely see the influence of jjbeguin's shot. At the time, I thought this was an unusual take - post-Cold War duckies - and well-processed to get that point across. |
