Insistent Winds of Marchby skewsmeComment: The way the two blooms are seemingly yanked in opposite directions gives this shot an emotional punch of estrangement, amid all that tumult in the background patterning. I fear for the survival of each of them. Good way to use contradicting directions in a composition to give it unsettling energy. |

Japanese Macaque in Jigokudani Yaenkoen Onsen by FalcComment: This is mesmerizing, I suppose partly because of the fact that they are all close-eyed, and the odd posture of the one leaning backward, as if in a death repose. Also the reflections - I suppose some might say you would be better off using a polarizer to get rid of the water reflections, but I like very much that you have them, and the image would be less absorbing to look at if they weren't there. |

Pier to Pierby Ecce_SignumComment: I like the punniness of your title. This shot has a lot of atmosphere, it makes me feel like I'm huddled under the boards as shelter against the rough weather. |

Still Usefulby ButterflyGirlComment: What unusual-looking birds (unusual to me, at least) - I hope you can ID them in your photo notes, I'll look forward to looking it up after the challenge. What I find especially attractive in this image is how the angles of the birds and their head tufts echo the angles of the fence. |

Moonlight Sonataby edmengComment: I like the dramatic play of light and dark, but for me at least it looks too-much sharpened. |
