Her face is too dim for me, though, so it doesn't draw me in as much as I'd like. Decent shots that meet the challenge define 5 for me, so 5 it is.

I like the concept (I know what dreamcatchers are), the placement within the frame, and the bokeh (blurred background). Maybe with a little brighter lighting I'd have voted this higher. 5.

Decent photo that meets the challenge is what I vote as a 5.

I'm sorry I don't have anything to suggest. I like the composition, but maybe there's no way to take this particular concept that would really grab me. Maybe having the book glow? 5.

I like the placement of the main trunk and the branches, and I like the soft focus - it adds to the fantasy feel. I feel like something's missing, though - maybe a stronger subject? Still, I'm bumping it from a 5 to a 6.

This is a tough image for me. On the one hand, I love the concept, the hand is well-lit and sharp, and the flame looks nice.

On the other hand, aside from the literal placement of the flame, there doesn't seem to be much connection to the hand. I'm looking for something that's burning, and I find myself wondering whether this is a reflection instead of just being absorbed by the photo. I'm sorry I don't have anything more specific to give you. 5.

Interesting shapes, but I get only a weak sense of mystery here. I do like how they make a diagonal line across the photo, and the cloudy sky adds drama. In fact, it's an interesting image outside of this challenge.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'll assume you saw this and thought "warlock" or "magic," but to me, they're just dramatic, interesting shapes. Be careful what you assume will resonate with others. Of course, having said that, you'll probably get a high 6 or 7. :)

But from me, 5.

The idea is interesting, but something about the pose and cropping makes me think of someone lying on a bed instead of hovering mid-air. Aside from that, though, I like the composition an use of B&W.

I don't usually notice borders or comment on them, but this one bothers me. I feel like I want to see more here, and the border on the right frustrates me. 5.

I like the idea here. The orange works well in contrast to the cat's black. In fact, it works a little too well, such that I can barely see the cat beyond his eyes (my monitor's brightness is turned all the way up, too). But the composition is good. 6.
