Suniferousby posthumousComment: Love the sunrays, Don! I also like the gradient from bright to dark. |

Ponte Vecchio, Florenceby raishComment: 5.8?!? Yet another team suck entry I just can't believe scored where it did. This is BEAUTIFUL.
My one internal question is how I feel about the bit of arch on the right. With it, the image tells me there's more to the scene just over there to the right, so it engages me. With it cropped out, the framing just feels so sweet. Both good results. :) |

Castby xianartComment: Oh, Christian, I know EXACTLY how you feel. My wife's family has a place in Vermont that her great-grandfather built almost 100 years ago. We go up there every summer; in fact, she goes for 3 weeks with the girls.
As a photo, this is just singing with suppressed energy: the cocked arm ready to cast, the dog ready to jump, and the clouds ready to unload. Very nice! |

Moment of Truceby NikonJebComment: Funny composition, Jeb. :) You know the technicals aren't great here, but that's not the point, is it? |

Lizard Rockby hotpastaComment: Sorry, Enzo. You didn't nail your goal. You'll just have to settle for 0.5 higher. :) Congrats on this awesome, awesome shot and very high placement! :) |

Mountain Grandeurby SandyPComment: 6.2?!? 6. frigging 2?!? Sheesh. What a masterful shot - you did exactly what you set out to do as far as showing the difference in size. Well done. :) And congrats on getting your average over 6! |

study of a young womanby silverfoxxComment: Congrats on your new personal best! Nice to see someone actually doing that with this challenge. :) And wow, what a high placement! And then look at that favorites count and how many comments and how highly THEY rated this! Just a fantastic result all around.
This shot is just masterful; the framing, light, your pose ... plus, I had to lean in close to tell it wasn't a painting!
Your artistry is simply stunning, Svetlana. You really owe DPC a tutorial on how you got the painting effect. |
