This is terrific! I love your use of shadow and light to convey emotion. This shot connects with my general dislike of basements when I was a kid and the stairs to the basement were so dark and forbidding. If I had to go down there at night, I'd grab whatever I needed and then run back up the stairs.

Kashi: "anachronism" means something that doesn't belong in its time, as opposed to just showing something old with something new. I think some of the highest-scoring entries don't really show anachronism, but timfythetoo's 4th place entry does perfectly.

I'm guessing there are two problems with this entry, both of which could result in it being disqualified: it was taken outside the challenge dates and it looks like you pasted parts of other pictures in the upper left corner.

Other than in challenges with "expert" editing rules, you're not allowed to combine more than one shot in your entry.

Don't worry too much about it - just take it as learning how DPC works and keep entering. :)

This is perfect. Seeing old things in modern times isn't nearly as jarring as seeing modern things in old times. So your idea easily beats the ribbon winners in my book.
