Curlsby timfythetooComment: Well, you pulled it off, Tim! Congrats on a beautiful shot. I was actually thinking of your stationery entry as I shot my science entry. |

"Rooster" by noranekoComment: Yippeeeeee! Way to go, Catherine! I'm so happy for you. As your team member, it was so very, very cool to see it before it went into voting; we got to be wowed by it for a few days longer than everyone else! :) |

water meets landby aznymComment: As an abstract, I like this. But as a way to convey the challenge topic, the rotation takes away from it for me. |

Imposingby krnodilComment: Karen, it is a striking wall, but this treatment leads me to wonder why only one part of it is in color. Might it might be better to have both parts in color? |

Transfusionby bmartuchComment: I'm surprised at the score on this. I'm guessing the subject was too small and it wasn't especially sharp. DPC loves sharp. I wonder how it'd look cropped down so the heart fills more of the frame? |

Bleeding Heart Beautyby WriteHeartComment: Hi Julie. I think this is pretty, but could be improved by:
1) Sharpening it up a bit (if the original is blurred, then oh, well)
2) Cropping less tightly at the top
3) Coloring the other blooms (it would have more of a look of the third-place shot, with the repeating object)
But you did a good job with the coloring and how you kept the other blooms bright with a dark background. |

"Ok, now turn it all green.."by seeComment: First, this is a well-done photo to use as a starting point. And great job on the desat, Alan! Fur is really hard to mask out well. I think brightening this up quite a bit would help a lot. If you use Photoshop, try a new layer set to "soft light" blending mode. Paint in white over the bunny with a large, soft brush, and then reduce opacity of that layer until it looks right. |
