Bleeding Heart Beautyby WriteHeartComment: Hi Julie. I think this is pretty, but could be improved by:
1) Sharpening it up a bit (if the original is blurred, then oh, well)
2) Cropping less tightly at the top
3) Coloring the other blooms (it would have more of a look of the third-place shot, with the repeating object)
But you did a good job with the coloring and how you kept the other blooms bright with a dark background. |

"Ok, now turn it all green.."by seeComment: First, this is a well-done photo to use as a starting point. And great job on the desat, Alan! Fur is really hard to mask out well. I think brightening this up quite a bit would help a lot. If you use Photoshop, try a new layer set to "soft light" blending mode. Paint in white over the bunny with a large, soft brush, and then reduce opacity of that layer until it looks right. |

Eastern Lubber Grasshoppersby JuliBocComment: Terrific subject choice and treatment! My only nit would be to crop it closer at the top to make it even with the tight crop on the bottom (or open it a bit more on the bottom). I agree with skewsme, too - the colored screw heads add some visual balance. |

Weddingby JRalstonComment: Glorious capture, from the composition, to the look on her face, to the hair blowing across her face! I don't know what she was really feeling, but her face says "I'm not letting go of Mommy's hand!"
I gotta check out the various glows. |

Smooth dropletby katOsuComment: Oops. I have a date-based DQ myself because the camera's date was wrong. So I happily checked the box on the entry page knowing I took it during the correct dates.
It's a great shot, so enjoy the compliments, learn from the DQ, and keep entering! :) |
