Dancing In the Darkby HipychikComment: I love the composition and shapes. My tastes run to higher contrast, though. Play around with it and see if you like it better - ramp up the contrast using various tools like curves, levels, and even just the brightness/contrast sliders. Also try USM set to something like 20, 50, 0. USM can create sharper contrast along edges while not blowing highlights or dropping out shadowed areas. I'd also bump up the saturation. |

you, me and the moonby skewsmeComment: I really like the colors and composition. The glow behind the mountain doesn't phase me, but the fact it follows the silo's edges jars me as an editing artifact. |

no titleby GnarfComment: Your style is clear here. I can appreciate shots like this, as Melethia knows, but I find myself wanting more contrast and sharp distinctions. The shot as framed works for me, but I'd do some things differently in editing. |

Spider Lilyby BrianRComment: The more I look at this, the more I appreciated the flowing lines and wild colors. I'd suggest cloning out the non-black stuff in the upper right, though, to make it a pure background. I'd also either sharpen it more or blur it more. It's kind of in-between right now. |

Match Girl Saves Birdby raishComment: Peter, I think you know what you're doing. For my tastes, though, I'd prefer to have the statue brighter and the background dimmer. She has interesting textures as well as that "tear" on her cheek, but my attention is drawn to the hot circles in the upper right. This is where I'd use soft light layers to reverse the relative brightness. Even if you like it as is, I suggest playing with that editing technique just to have available to you later. |

All Eyes on Prince Charmingby JuliBocComment: Julianne, you're a good enough photographer to know the technical problems. I understand your thoughts on the central figure, but to me it's clearly Prince Charming, not the kid on the right. After him, at least to me, it's the girl to his right. Maybe the interaction between them is the main story. Whatever - as usual, if you like it, then be happy with it. :) |

The Magic Mailboxby jaysonmcComment: Jayson, you know how much I love some of your images, but this one just leaves me kind of flat. I have a feeling there's an amazing image in there somewhere; I just can't see how to bring it out. |

Guiltyby libertyComment: Way cool. I could see this on a billboard. Just love the sparkle of color in the otherwise B&W image. |

Mother Nature's Fireworksby JerseyGenieComment: Oops - I managed not to come back after the challenge until now. Congrats BIGTIME on your new personal best, Jeanne! :) It's truly a beautiful shot and very different from the usual flower image. Now share the learning with everyone else and post the original and how you edited it. :) |
