Weighty Reflectionsby SteveJComment: Steve, I think the reflections just didn't come across well enough to grab people's attention. |

Rivalsby Bruce_the_RobertComment: Hmm. I think the shot suffers from being torn between too many subjects. Cropping in one one of the ducks would have changed your story, but probably would've had more impact. And your title would still have fit, pitting the real duck against his reflection.
Have you ever played with soft light layers? I think that technique could have brought out some of the detail in the very dark duck on the left. |

The Hauntby HipychikComment: I love shots that make me reconsider reality, and this one does that. Good job flipping it upside down! The resulting composition is great. |

Race ya!by KelliComment: Cute shot. I have to admit it didn't hold my interest much because I've seen so many other duck photos. The reflection's not particularly important to the shot, so that didn't give your score any lift. Are the backs of the ducks blown out on your monitor? They're close on mine, and my screen is usually darker than most. |

The Office Windowby NikonJebComment: Jeb, I think the reflection was so brilliant that it left the rest of the composition kind of lacking. I also think the best reflection shots usually use both the real world and the reflection, as opposed to solely using the real to frame the reflection. But it *is* a nice framing angle! |

And the dog bowl was bareby kashiComment: Boy, did I miss the face in the bowl during voting. Would have been worth a 6 just for that. The general blurriness also didn't hold my interest. I love blur in certain circumstances, but here it left my eye wandering. |

Balletby seeComment: Alan, for me the spots didn't mesh well with the blurred reflection. I needed something to draw my attention, but it all sort of melted together as a blurred background. |

Riverside fire flowersby purpleflutterby13Comment: I liked the shapes and the large amount of black. But I think many voters don't like the main parts to be separated by so much empty space. Your choice of aperture was perfect. |

holding what you cannot reachby posthumousComment: Mysterious - leaves me wondering about the story behind the image. I have to admit I didn't see it as a reflection, but as with many of your shots, it has depth that far exceeds this specific challenge. |

• Portal •by Bear_MusicComment: Got a 7 from me, Robert. The color's great, as is the green line leading to the portal. The swirls are terrific and intriguing. I like the composition, too. |
