Love the closed-up body language of the model and the look of utter boredom contrasting with the airy cheeriness of the balloons. 'How much longer do I have to sit here? My butt's getting cold!' :-)

I have to agree that there is just a teeeny bit too much negative space on the right, and the balloons are almost wafting out of frame. But otherwise a great image! Well done on a top 10!

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Initial impression: Very soft and subdued, nicely balanced compostion. I love to find shots too, as opposed to go and make them, which can be fun too!

Technical: Hard to find fault. I'm a sucker for leading lines and ambient lighting, both of which you use well here. Deeper dof may have helped, as only the closer shoreline is in focus, but I like the impressionistic feel with a shallower dof. Does add to the painterly feel. You don't mention any post-processing steps, so if this is straight from the camera, well done!

Artistic: At a guess, I would say it's your lack of over-saturated colours that caused you to finish fairly low, as this site tends to favour deep saturation. I tend to go for an extreme or different POV; try kneeling or crouching in same location and Having said that, if it's your second challenge, then there's no place to go but up.

Overall: A lovely image, good work, keep shooting!
