So what?by SSSSComment: Sorry for the DQ. Basic editing portraits are tough and almost all portraits require spot editing. This is still an outstanding shot. Well done. |

Mmmmwwaaby kwiktorComment: This has the potential to be an excellent portrait, but that tuft of hair below the model's lip looks disconnected and bears too much of a resemblance to a goatee. |

Laraby naomikComment: The closeup composition makes this image rather harsh. The focus here seems to be on the nose and the hair in front of the model's right eye instead of on the eyes. The noise (light? glitter? water? sharpening) above the right eye seems out of place and imposing. The reds in the image complement each other, but greyscale/B&W may have served this image better. |

Deathby meyersComment: Nice capture despite the blowouts on her nose and shoulder. Excellent use of a shallow DOF to separate the subject from the background. Nice expression on the model's face. Odd title though. |

Tuesday's Goneby walrus451Comment: The blues play well together - both literally and figuratively. They all match the extreme sadness in her expression. Good use of the very shallow DOF for this. |

got milk!by apixieComment: The warm tones complement this capture very well, asn does the composition being from the mom's view. |

Lys before the 8th grade danceby tpbremerComment: The exposure is excellent - you were able to capture the many colors of her hair. This image appears to be overly sharpened (on her hair). Good DOF use as her face stands out nicely. The whites of the eyes look a bit odd (color/brightness) in relation to the rest of the image. Nice pose and adorable smile. |

Regalby DistantColoursComment: Excellent exposure on the dark end of the spectrum and the focus is good. The portrait is void of any highlight, other than the lightest part of her hair. A soft light to brighten her eyes and lighten them would help this image. Also, it appears to be a little overly sharpened adding texture to her face. |

untitledby kmtregoeComment: The dark - light progression is good, but the glare (and dirtiness of the glass)to the right of her face impedes the soft flow of the image. Realizing this is a basic editing challenge this is well done. This captures the sadness of saying goodbye very well - as though the darkness will overtake her as the train proceeds from the station. |

you girdled sorrow // you clung to desireby mkComment: The wall to the left of the model adds excellent (and needed) texture to the image. I like how that section is framed by the grey/white slanted lines. Exposure on the model is outstanding and her painful/sorrowful expression really fits the image. Her outstretched arm intruding through the blackness creates a nice bridge from the abyss to the tactile. Well done. |
