How amazing you happened to go there on the very day they were dismantling the sign. It is sad to see our past disappear before our eyes, but on the bright side...something good may come in it's place.
I like the juxtaposition of all the different signs in your photo. It's as though they're all shouting to get our attention, but because of your story the only one that means anything is La Pantera Cafe.

So typically SF with doorways jammed next to each other, businesses shoehorned into places you can't believe they'd fit, and every square inch of window and wall advertising their products. Add the local passerby and you've nailed it. Great shot.

Coit Tower

Exquisite view of SF business district framed so interestingly. Add your daughter's profile portrait and you've created a very unique and satisfying photo. Desaturating the view makes this seem a bit old timey as well. Great capture. I did not know Coit tower was open to the public either, though I've only seen it from a distance myself. Might have to make the pilgrimage next time I'm down there.

Very surreal. How could you NOT want to take this picture? Wonderful focus and dof makes everything clear and sharp. The floating bananas seem to, well...,float - suspended as though in jello. The dark yellows and reds in the background make the bananas pop out nicely. Well seen for not looking!
