IMHO, this isn't low key as much as it's just poor lighting ... all you'd need is a reflector to bouce the light to the dark side of his face to make this a regular portrait ...

FWIW, I gave this shot an 8 ... I liked the interaction between the subjects ... I wanted to be sitting with them, listening to the conversation ... I wanted to have a cocktail with them (I commented something like that during voting) ... personally, I really liked the filter application, it gave the shot a 'painting' quality ...

I would have loved to see this in B/W ... my only nitpick is that the chair and fleece cover up a bit of the real action ...
