Glowingby wei1108Comment: Very nice luminous glow through the translucent snow/frost on the tree branches. Good capture. A few distracting elements in foreground and sky, but nothing I deducted points for. 9 |

Superstitionsby Rob OComment: Outstanding tonal range. Just the right detail in the shadow. Superb clarity. I like the toning very much.... maybe a selenium? eta: Interesting that on my home computer, I don't see the toning I thought I saw at my work computer. Looks great, regardless. 9 |

Alone On A Beachby JudiComment: If AA had ever decided to place people in his landscape images, this is how he would have done it. Amazing tones and great composition. Your masterful processing and BW conversion of this image earns it my top score 10 and is my favorite in this challenge. Beautiful and eye-pleasing image. |

Yosemite Valley, January 2009by ZeusComment: I looked at this image for a long time. Must have been exciting to stand in what appears to be the same spot as Ansel's "Winter Storm Clearing". There's a lot to like in this image. I like the contrast and the zones. Maybe too bright in the clouds, or maybe I'd like to see more detail in the clouds, but sometimes the clouds don't cooperate. There are some factors holding back the score on this image. I have looked at it on two different computers/monitors. Seems to be pixelation in a couple spots. Not sure if you unintentionally lowered the JPG quality too much. Some halos, too. Could be a filter you applied. Might be oversharpening artifacts. Sure is a great scene, but it does not snap to clarity for me. |

Thunderheadby jhomrighausComment: Great sky and scene. The sky is perfect. The black shadow on the foreground ridge has lost detail. The tree branches reaching up into the sky are a distraction. |

Cabezon Peak dot dashby rajronComment: The sky gradient is somewhat posterized. And, it would have been easy to clone out the contrail. I do like the scene and the half moon. |
