Those Eyesby PascalComment: Excellent use of sepia tone. Really adds feeling and drama to a great photograph. |

The Wild by AllenPComment: I gave this a high score. (9) I can only hope and pray it is a true wildlife image. It's exceptionally perfect, as a sculptor would present. In North America, our deer are still in mid-velvet stage, so the fully developed antlers would not be found in a live animal here. Don't know about the other hemisphere. If this is a presentation of wild animals, then bravo. If it's a photo of a statue, then it's still a good photo, but there will be much disappointment on my part. |

The Back 40by DennisheckmanComment: I love the trail through the prairie grass. Could be a wagon train trail, as viewed by early pioneers. Well done! |

Run, Forest Baby, Run!by hahn23Comment: I wish some people would take their box of trouble elsewhere. It's the worst part of DPChallenge for me. |

Run, Forest Baby, Run!by hahn23Comment: Originally posted by kenskid: I just had to jump in....If I'm not mistaken, the Blue Ribbon went to an image that was done with "Basic Editing" rules!...

The blue ribbon winner is excellent. The author of that image did use one layer, although he might have scored as well using Basic Ruleset. Read his image comments.
Unrelated to the winning images, the DQ'd image in the challenge speaks for itself. |

Run, Forest Baby, Run!by hahn23Comment: Originally posted by skewsme: Oh you silly. It's not the processing - you shoulda put ELK in the title. I didn't vote on it but thought it was a scrawny deer. Ok, ok... possibly substituting a godzilla head wouldn't hurt either ;-) |
No, I'm not silly. As you indicate in your comments, no one has seen a newborn elk run. Twice as big as a deer fawn, btw. Hey, it's okay. I just entered this challenge to prove that people are voting on the processing, not on an image which meets the challenge. |

Run, Forest Baby, Run!by hahn23Comment: Originally posted by Art Roflmao: Oh for pete's sake, Richard - the score had WAYYY more to do with the fact that there are MANY photos of deer/elk/wildlife on DPC and nearly nothing to do with the editing. Look at the blue ribbon winner. Just because you think it meets the challenge doesn't mean everyanyone else does. ..."period".
eta: I forgot to end on a positive note: It is a really great photo of a newborn elk, I'll give you that. :) |
First and only newborn elk. This is not a sub 5 image. Does meet the challenge description. Voted low because it's not a cartoon collage. It's okay. The entry was an experiment. But, this is a unique photo. Most of the entries in this challenge are not unique in any way, other than their degree of post processing. |
