Low Keyby MargaretNetComment: This is a fine image which meets the challenge. I saw the desperate plea in the forums by someone for better treatment of non-traditional interpretations. I've now voted this much higher and adjusted all others appropriately. Good luck! |

Kama'ole sign off by DennisheckmanComment: Way to go, Dennis. Very fine image. Super worthy of a ribbon. I recognized the quality here early on. Congrats on your well deserved red! |

Sunrise Reverberationsby IchristfollowerComment: Fatal weakness would be the posterization in the sky. The yellow monochrome is fine. It's the very ugly posterization which caused me to give this a low score. This is bad photography. |

The Golden Ferns of Autumn Vby hahn23Comment: Originally posted by Art Roflmao: I was initially puzzled by the blue until I realized it was the sky. I think this would have done better with the sky completely blocked out or with a gray sky. It's just too blotchy and distracting as is. Otherwise, Richard, this is a beautiful image. Just giving you my take on what I, and possibly other voters, saw. |
Thanks, Art. I appreciate your comments. The Colorado sky does confuse people, especially when viewed through the leaves of an aspen grove. It's not in the life experiences of some. Be sure to visit the mountains in autumn to see this sometime. The sky's blueness and the dappled light in the grove were the main elements of interest. This image is straight from the camera. |
