I had to look up what a Boreal Chickadee looked like. Territory is all north of the 48th parallel. I've never seen the Boreal, but now I know it exists. |

The eye color and eye ring and the red and black on the bill make this a California Gull. They do look similar to herring or ring-billed, but the field marks differentiate. |
