Anything Is Possibleby hhuddleComment: The advantage of shooting into the direction of the sun is the halo effect on the hair of the child. Meets the challenge. 7 |

Night Breezeby markwileyComment: Outstanding portrait. Wind-blown hair and boa meet the challenge well. Love your composition. Pro treatment of black bg. 8 |

Area 21by DennisheckmanComment: Ansel Adams-like. Great conversion to b&w. The detail in the clouds is awesome. Lots of air flow overhead. Meets the challenge well. Love the added elements of interest in the foreground. 8 |

Wind and Cloudsby Alex_PetriniComment: Gorgeous light and color. Those streaming clouds indicate high winds overhead. I love the contrast between the jet stream overhead and the perfect calm mirror at eye-level. This meets the challenge well. This is an image which would really benefit from a bigger pixel allowance. Great job! 9 |

Stormby MargaretNetComment: Wow, this is a grand seascape with effective treatment of storm clouds overhead. Magical light on the waves, beach and cliffs. Wonderful detail. Meets the challenge well. Expert control of exposure. My pick for the blue ribbon. 10 |

Outback Windmillby StagoleeComment: I especially like your asymmetrical composition. Great subject. Meets the challenge well. Acute angle to the sun. Would love to see a more natural looking sky that was less bright with more gradient, but maybe that's the way the sky looks in your hemisphere. Your choice of shutter speed to blur the windmill blades works great. 8 |

Winterby talzamComment: Mountaintop view. Love the atmospherics below. Some color and contrast noise, but in general, good job considering the acute angle to the sun. I like the clouds above as an added element of interest. The nearly square format is a drawback, but that's nitpicking. 9 |

Breeze of Freedom by jagarComment: This strikes an emotional chord with me, as my golden retriever loved the wind in her face as we drove down the road. Superb b&w. Nice conversion. I suppose it's the curl of the ear on the far left which makes this magical. Tolerant dog. 9 |

I have seen the white hair of the waves blown back... —T.S. Eliotby PenelopeKComment: Should be a ribbon contender. Great capture of the wind blow wave crests. I think my favorite part of the image is the rich sand color/texture, the wonderful green of the foreground waves. I much admire your choice of low sun and angle to subject. Thanks for squaring that horizon. Glorious gradient to the dark blue sky. I think this is a magnificent seascape. And, great title. This one has it all. 10 |

Hopeby dougi555Comment: Love the children's pose and the emotion it arouses. I don't much like the vignette blur and the background prcessing. You fixed the bg too much. It distracts from an otherwise super photo. |
