Tap Dancing Practiseby trainComment: a nice shot, but the background and exposure rather bring it down. i wish there was a little more light and brightness on her face and arms, less yellow relection from the floor. the background is quite distracting, and would benfit from boing blurred. either shooting with a wider aperture, or using post processing to blur it. there's a good tutorial on blurring backgrounds in the learning section of dpc.
good work, and keep shooting! |

Persian Pedistal at Duskby chaliceComment: a well exposed image, but it just feels... empty. yeah, i know the challenge is empty room, but others feel filled with emptiness, while this one is just ...empty. i'm sorry, this makes no sense, does it?
i think this might have benefitted from a wider angel to have more room init, or a landscpe format, to emphasise the emptiness. i think that the expanse of wall is rather heavy on hte pedestal. |

Egg-Ceteraby JunieMoonComment: a very nice image. abstarct, but not unrecognisably so. the main probelems are the flecks of whit on the left side - very distratcting - and the noise. this is one image that doesn't benefit from noise. perhaps either a wider or shallower depth of field - so the cd is either crisp or completely out of focus. right now it looks just - not in focus, unintentionally. the star filter might be a bit distracting too - i'm not sure...
good creative thinking a nd setup. well done. |

DeathStar's Precious Chosenby SherwinJamesComment: i'm still wonderin gat the disqualification of this image. is excessive burning (what i'm sassuming you did) not allowed?

Detailsby MeShoKhaNComment: very nice image, although it could be a little greener. nice details and texture, i like the background. however, i think you'll be criticized for the text in the border. i'm pretty sure you aren't allowed text on a challenge submission. |

HARVESTby grainman9Comment: very good. recalling the fact that a still life was originally a memento mori - a rememberance or consciousness of death. i do agree with the DOF comment, thought. i gave you an 8.

Got Milk?by natrubelComment: a nice idea, but the colour balance and the tilted horizontal really don't help. if the milk was white, that would help a lot. there are tutorials on both removing a colour cast and straightening horizontals. the focus is good, and the composition is quite good. |

Captureby psquared40Comment: a nice idea, but it has a few things holding it back. the poor focus on the cap itself doesn't help. if the cap was more to the right, that would help the composition, as it's very static at the moment. curves might help the very bright window. is that a cat back left? basically, it needs more focus on the cap, both literally and figuratively. |
