Day 1 - Saaaaaad Babiesby SandyPComment: Aww - that is SO cute.
Technically speaking, I think a little stronger contrast would really make the photo "pop". |

Midnightby JustinMComment: Looks more like a painting than a photo. Not that that is a bad thing, if that's the effect you're going for.
The moon doesn't look real at all - it's way too sharp. Looks pasted in. |

Lelaby HipychikComment: She's adorable. Nice soft photo. Maybe a touch on the underexposed side, but not too much. |

Getting Readyby kashiComment: Originally posted by bmartuch: Kashi, you did an excellent job on this shot and I think you got robbed. BTW, this is a magnificent portrait shot IMO. How did you set this up to get the lighting like that and the softness? |
This was taken in our living room, at night.
In front of him (that's my hubby - bless his heart) is a set of 2 500-watt halogen work-lights on a stand. They're to *my* left.
He's in front of a piece of white seamless paper that is tacked to the wall.
HORRIBLE colour cast. The softness came from what little editing I got to do in Basic. Levels to change the yellow background to white. A bit of noise reduction and gaussion blur.
Crop, resize, and enter - knew it would be blown away. But it was fun. |
