Still beat my eggs with the old wire whisk by IreneMComment: Originally posted by fotomann_forever: Originally posted by Quasimojo: This is a fabulous shot but I really don't want to sound like a DNMC hater but this really does feel like a shoehorn. Maybe I don't spend enough time in the kitchen but doesn't everyone still use a wire whisk to beat eggs?! It just doesn't feel like 'old ways' enough to me. It's a great image and it's hard to mark you down for it, but I have to do a -1 out of respect to all the others that seem better interpreted imho Brilliant shot in every other respect. |
Irene, I think the image is awesome and congrats on the ribbon... but I too at first felt that it was a bit of a stretch. I couldn't, however, force myself to vote it down low, because it is such a wonderful image.
In retrospect, just because something is STILL done a certain way, does not make it not an old way. |
Hi Leroy. Thanks for commenting. I didn't mean this image to be a stretch in any way. I use my electric mixer most of the time and I hadn't used the whisk for the longest time (I've had it for over 20 years). Even my dear old Mother-in-law uses her electric mixer regularly ;-) However, I see where you're coming from and thanks for not voting me down even though you had your doubts. The whisk was an "old way" for me and certainly no shoehorn. |
