Unfortunately, I have no idea what is going on here. This looks to me like a totally random shot in someone's garage. I've stared at this for a while, but I just can't make it work.

Good idea. I like the composition, color, and the reflective surface that everything is on, but it seems a bit flat. Also, the whites have a pretty strong blue cast to them. Perhaps a different white balance would have helped. Still a 6 from me.

I assume this is a legal double exposure of the same flower/vase in two different positions. Great idea and very well executed. Alas, I just don't find it to be a very interesting photo to look at for very long. Still, you get a 6 from me.

Macroscopic Photon Interactions

I certainly see a lot of photon interactions, but the photo just doesn't end up being appealing to my eye. I'm not a fan of the brownish-yellow, and the glass thing looks very clunky (I don't know how to describe what I mean by that very well...it's like it's almost in focus and then massively sharpened or something).

I get the idea here, but I think it would help me a lot to know what that thing is that is being flamed, and I just can't tell. I have discovered that photographing fire and having it look cool is really hard. My best advice is to use a small aperture and really fast shutter speed (like f/8, 1/200 or so) so as not to blow out the flame, and then light the rest of the stuff in the shot like crazy.

This is a great capture, but it has too much of a blurry/painterly feel for my taste.

I like the idea, but it got lost in the execution for me. I don't like the green and blue colors together, and I would like to see the whole dropper thing in nice sharp focus. I do like the aperture choice to create little stars out of the points of light.

Nice macro, but it looks like all of your detail has been eaten up by your noise reduction software.

This is a pretty good try at this effect. The hand could be brighter, and the black edge around the end of the bulb is rather distracting.

Well this turned out pretty darn cool. What the heck did you take a picture of, anyway? A bit more contrast and sharpening would really make it pop.
