Ah! This is one of two shots in this challenge that I think is both abstract and recognizable at the same time, and I love it when that happens. Great color, too. I'm torn as to whether I like it better with or without the white lettering.

I think I've bumped this at least once already, and here I'm going to do it again. :) The more I look the more I like. The tones are superb, and it's just such a gloriously detailed flower (which you've brought out so skillfully). Who knows, I may bump you again later (you are only at a 9 now).

I figured as soon as this popped up that it was Gordon's. I just saw that you posted a 3.something in the scores thread, so now I'm sure it's yours. It's strange how people let their expectations determine whether or not they like something. "A photo should have something in focus, so this is bad." I wonder how many "There's nothing in focus." comments you're getting! Personally, I love the composition and soothing warm tones. I also enjoy images that are simultaneously abstract yet recognizable. Your title got me wondering, too, and I learned some things I didn't know before. I had you at a 7, but I'm bumping you to an 8 on my second pass.
