All over the world each of us has a favourite place and memory. But your geography on the west side is quite stunning. Your photo really brings it home to me how much I want to see more of this lovely country (I am from England with wife and two daughters in Brooklyn, NY. We tend to go up the east side to places like Vermont rather than travel further afield. But we must do so... your photo inspires.)

Sometimes one finds old photographs in attics and basements where the emulsion has bled and the colours run creating yet another effect. Your work reminds me of something like that. I like it.

The End Of The Line

Train tracks are, IMO, impossible to avoid photographing. They have a very strong symbolism - they lead somewhere - perhaps into the past, the future, or to another place. They seem endless. Old factory chimneys are also great symbols of a, mostly, extinct manufacturing industry. Of blue collar work and pollution. Your image has both in it. I think perhaps rendition in b/w or duotone would have given this some age. Probably worth another visit to the location. I voted but came back to comment later....
