Undergroundby ingibComment: Ah, down under Westminster Bridge. A nice b/w photograph at a great time of day. The detail and exposure produce for me a fascinating overall effect. |

Behind the wallby ingibComment: The silhouette is nicely cartoony in detail, yet pleasantly broken up by the fountain. It makes for a nice graphic image, all in all. |

Reflectionsby DeniseBernadetteComment: It's amazing how the human mind jumps to symbols and conclusions therefrom. A drop of water, a reflection, reminiscences, romantic pathos, focus... a lot of allegories therein. Simple but fine. |

London Eyeby ingibComment: That's an eye-stretching wide angle of a place I know very well. The detail, at this size of image, is plentiful and visually exciting. |

The Cellistby posthumousComment: Commenting on the commenter-extraordinaire's photograph is surely somewhat like eating steak sandwiches at a picnic in a safari park. Here goes. I think what makes this photo stand out for me is the obviously very colourful bokeh which is turned into b/w and therefore into a rather unusual abrstract background. The figure and event taking place in the foreground is barely as important as the background. Music is not what comes to mind - more like a tentative pole climber surveying her potential passage upwards or a caber tosser in training. The hands are what really make the foreground a little unusual. If only there was a way to completely limit the rest of the figure and place these hands disembodied in the rustic setting. That would be art. |

Office from the leftby B74AComment: It's like the pleochroic effect minerals display under a geologist's poalarized microscope. As you say, unavoidable. You can sometimes see it displayed on cheap aquariums too - as caused by the glass bending slightly. BTW, interesting portrait. Message edited by author 2006-10-17 10:47:37. |

Foggy Fieldsby gocComment: One of my favourites of this challenge. Exceptionally simple yet very rich in implied location and tone. 9. |

Mass Ascension 7:25 A.M.by BalkoComment: What an exciting composition and event you have captured. The early morning light really shows the time of day by its angle. I find the colours a tiny wee bit on the dull side. I wonder if that's because I get exposed to too many bright images which are unaturally bright and colourful? 8. |
