Sage and Paintbrush

I have to look at this one again. It's one of my personal favourites in the challenge, sage and paintbrush, such an amazingly beautiful combination - the orangeish red of the paintbrush on the silvery greens of the sage. Wow. I think I can smell this photo, like when there's a hailstorm, and the air is full of sage. So beautiful.

A Different Shade of Orange

Wow, that really is an intense orange! I think the focus is a bit off here though, it seems to be at the top left of the image, but all the petals to the front are a bit out of focus, which in this case doesn't work all that well. I also think it might work better to not have the centre of the flower right down in the middle of the picture, but more a bit down and to one side. Something to try :) (5)
