Beautiful geometric abstract. I like it that it isn't totally straight, and I really like the pattern of the screen on the left hand side. IMVHO the raised border (the cream coloured frame) is a bit distracting, because the rest of it is so geometric and angular, and the frame is sort of soft looking, and, at least to my eyes, they don't really quite match. ~8

Very good entry. I like the concept, and I like the execution. The light is beautiful (is it evening light?). It shines on the flowers/flags, and a bit on the grasses behind them, like a beautiful backdrop, but the grave and dirt aroud it are in shadow for the most part. Great match for the challenge. ~9

This reminds me of Judy's pictures, beautiful cows, great angle. Is this Judy? Good entry for dirt, good title. The cows have a sort of halo around them (angelic cows?) :) ~7

So you blackmailed the kid to let you take pictures by letting him (her?) doodle on your walls? Neat. Good candid. ~7

Perfect dirt on white picture! Sandy dirt. The colours are great. As a picture, by itself, outside of the "dirt" challenge, I don't know, it's very clean and professional, but it doesn't have much to offer outside of that. For the challenge, it's great. ~9

The title is perfect for this image. Love the soft blues into grey/whites, and the dirt showing through. One thing you might consider doing is to crop a bit more off top and bottom, to get rid of the darker blueish line at the bottom, and tha partial dirt/ice things at the top; just for a slightly clearner look. ~8

Oh, no. I was standing at the side of the swing set. The motion blur in the background is essentiallly the background moving whereas the subject is fixed.

Imagine it like this: you have a ping-pong ball in front of polka-dot paper. Move the ping-pong ball back and forth in a swinging fashion, keep your focus on the ball, what happens to the background? The dots become stripes, the stripes are the same direction/shape as the movement of the ball.

That's the way you do these. Use the camera in Shutter-priority, set to a slow shutter speed (something anywhere from 1/15 sec to 1/60 sec, it's worth experimenting). Focus on a moving subject that's in front of a not so plain background (but not too busy either). Start moving the camera with the subject, and match the subject's speed/movement. Then, just keep moving the camera with the subject and press the shutter. You'll get a lot of failures, but you also get some beauties. The more you do it, the easier it becomes, and the more successes you get.

If this doesn't explain it, let me know, and I'll try explaining it some other way.

Wow, this image has a very interesting feel to it, sort of like being in prison, and yet it looks so beautiful.

Cool shot! A saucepan in what looks like an office? I really like how clear the reflection is, yet the background is nicely out of focus (you can notice it especially at the bottom left). Beautiful.
