not an unheard of crop but it is more unusual than the lighthouse plopped in middle of frame or on the thirds. one feels the burden of the lighthouse.

love these silhouettes, and the plane! cutting people off around the waste counts as unusual and creates a wonderful compositional effect, removing all sense of perspective as well.
