of my top 3, this is the only one not boosted up by great subject matter. This shot is just pure composition.

I read the thread you made about this picture and it made me see that I underscored it. I thought it was simply the clown makeup that made for the masquerade and gave it an average score, 5, but looking closer I see what you mean: the clown make-up is covering up a very sad demeanor. It's unfortunate that there are so many challenge entries that it's difficult to spend enough time with each shot. Shots like this deserve more time than that!

Hey Cindy! I gave this shot a 7 because it does something remarkable: it tells a story. Your title got it perfectly. Somehow, despite all the apparent chaos in the picture, the subject is clearly the little girl who is being forced to wait, even though she is no bigger than any of the other figures and even though her back is turned. Part of it is centering, but also the fact that the picture is divided in two with her in the center. We've got the twins on one side and the larger kid on the other, with the playground equipment helping you to divide the scene in two. Her head seems to be turned down, which conveys her disappointment perfectly. The boys are completely oblivious to her. Capturing a story in a picture is one of the finest things a photographer can do. Nicely done (and the more I talk about it, the higher I want to make my score! :) ).
