French Bullby undieyatchComment: I love this and it was a particularly inspired choice for the challenge it was in. In this case, "negative space" is the white floor, which is made into an exciting shape by the black rectangles cutting into it. Dangling in this negative space are feet (which in dreams often represent the phallus) and testicles. Here we have the battle between black and white, death and sex! It's epic, man!
Notice the dog is in a posture of sleep. Is this all his dream? Are we all his dream? Or is this our dream? The dog simply is, his ass presented to us in a gesture of submission to his fate... but do not be mistaken, this is courage not cowardice. The French Bull is our hero. He lies at the center of our perception. He is we as we are he and we are all together. Goo goo ga joob! |

Light From Aboveby JSAYBComment: the glare might have been more effective on the intersection. Right now it looks like a cyclopean eye. |

Dirty Phone Callsby Marc923Comment: The image should have some twist, even a subtle one. Is there one that I'm missing? It has nice contrast though and good composition with room for text on top. |

Deceitful Passion of Captivityby librodoComment: A beautiful lawn beast is terrorizing suburbia! sharp, eyecandy image with intriguing strangeness, resonating with the additional excitement of "captivity" brought in with the title. Text fits nicely on the right. |

Despair Plays Chopinby skewsmeComment: Bergman's most accessible film, though we never do find out how the piano plays by itself. This really feels like a foreign film from the 70s. Great expressive posture from your model and I like the subtle but dramatic shadows. Good composition, too. Notice how pointedly she is looking at empty space. A great way to convey loneliness, despair, etc. |

Demon Possessed Childby Penny LaneComment: the kid seems too tentative. maybe you should have had him kill a few more things before taking the shot. Good dramatic angle though, and good composition. |
