Swan's Down Pillowby jrjrComment: lovely subject, but I wish you'd found a better composition/framing solution than that odd half-vignette. 6 |

Watching Over the Oaksby robinssongComment: wow, I just loved the experience of slowly figuring out what is in this picture. It felt as though he materialized from branches of the tree. It was quite a spiritual experience, actually. 9 |

Soaringby dmaddenComment: I'm giving you an extra point for calling this soaring but having the bird pointed down. 7 |

The Weaverby HighNoonerComment: Beautiful. That tiny blur of motion signifying his right hand is what sets this photo apart. Also the dark shape above his head showing a square quality, which contrasts to the round quality of the item being weaved. His face and left hand are so beautiful, more beautiful than anything he could create. His shirt seems woven into the wall. The man is one with his environment. This is as good as "environmental portrait" gets. 10 |

Going to the Ballby cloudsmeComment: They need to relax. One thing that disturbs me a little is I can sense some vulnerability in the woman, but the man is a complete cipher. |

Path in the grassby zaflaboutComment: I'm cool with the funky processing, but the path itself doesn't look right, and it's calling too much attention to itself instead of integrating into the image. I'll give you a 6. It could've been higher! :) |

Walkby xianartComment: at first, the vignetting turned me off, but now I'm not so sure. I'm starting to think it represents an impaired vision, a tunnel vision. Perhaps if it were more irregular? It is a striking image. I'll give it a 7. |

Starletby adeldeganComment: There's a poignant frisson between the title and the photo. She seems sad and vulnerable in a non-starlet sort of way. She seems instead like a regular person with make-up and fancy lights. I identify with her instead of desiring her or desiring to be her. I feel what I imagine she is feeling. Interesting to note that the camera is not merely observing in this case, but is actually an active contributor to her vulnerability and sadness. I feel almost as though I am hurting her and feeling her hurt at the same time, an awkward but moving experience. 9 |

Realm of the Iceniby MilesWComment: I've heard of waves of grain, but I've never seen them crashing on a shore. Redefining reality is all about photography. 10 |
