Time To Put The Dress Onby hotpastaComment: This is a great illusion. It doesn't look like tv gazing. It looks like some sort of noble disdain for the dress. Very cinematic. dof is perfect for the effect. |

The red (blue?)-headed stepchildby dssagent88Comment: the invisible family, invisible dad is making another one of his boring home videos when redhead goes for goal. Everybody hates redhead, but he's the only good thing about papa's videos. 7 |

H O L L A N Dby maxaz1Comment: Greetings From the Critique Club!
Sorry, it's just me. :) I had fun guessing the acronym, but I had the same impression that Melethia had. It feels like you just pointed the camera at something. Now that's not too bad a thing when it's something important like this, but it dooms you to 5-land, and the soft focus dooms you to 4-land. You should always think about what is surrounding your subject, and you can change that by changing the angle of the shot and how close in you get.
Your camera settings make me think it wasn't as bright out as you thought. Notice your aperture is at 2.7. That creates a pretty shallow depth of field, and therefore not much is in focus. Are you aware of the sacred triangle of ISO, shutter speed, and aperture? If not, let me know and I'll point you to a tutorial or write one myself.
Sorry if I'm just giving you basic advice, but I'm pretty basic myself. :) |
