It was a bold choice to go this dark and a successful one, imho. There's an interesting ambiguity here as to whether this is a Zombie bride who wants to eat my brain or an all-too-human bride whose darkness is the fate she has just gotten herself into. She is literally disappearing into it as her tiara still glitters naively or perhaps even maliciously. Well done.

This just doesn't feel nightmarish to me. The yellowjacket doesn't seem particularly threatening, nor do I feel disoriented. Perhaps a stranger DOF, or some background elements to get caught outside of the area of focus. The one thing I would say fits your theme is the harsh lighting and shadow, which ironically is probably what your score is getting dinged for.

This meets the challenge well. The conveying of time through multiple images reflects the strange dimensionality of dreams, where we can never be sure how much time has passed and where time has been known to even skip and go backwards, or keep repeating. This seems particularly true when we are dying in a dream. The death scene tends to get played over and over again, rarely culminating in an actual death. According to my personal voting scale, "fulfilling the assignment" without any problems gets you a 5. When the assignment is fulfilled well, it gets a 6. That's where you are.

To get higher than a 6, the photo must seem like more than an assignment. It must appeal to me on its own terms.

It's satisfying to see such small crisp silhouettes. I only wonder if she had the fabric lifted over her head, she might mirror the trees more, and that could make for a breathtaking photo, imho.
