this is a great example of what a daring composition (they are talking about "open composition" in the impressionism thread. this is a great example) and a daring use of light can achieve. By seeing the source of the light, and seeing it unflinchingly as it hits their forms, this photo has an immediacy that it would otherwise be lacking. Tremendous. 10

Weird photo. I like how I can't make out what it should mean. The trees almost become characters. Almost. It's like they're trapped between being characters and being symbols.
