I love how they look all the way through the photo and out of frame. I love how this looks like an old photo found in an attic. an old fragment of randomness catching on the heart.

This photo is flawed. the girls are turned away. the branches of the rose intrude. the decisive moment was missed.

but that's what a decisive moment really is: a missed moment, and all the emotion filling the gap of what's gone or never to be.
