Current events? The colors you chose give this a dusty, parched look. Might wish for just a bit more range in the midtones of your duotones... maybe. BTW, I see a man in the mountain.

Wonderfully moody shot. The processing makes it look like something out of Like Water for Chocolate - very magical realism-ish. The Zen of it is the dialogue between the woman and the tree.

Novel and well-captured. Nice choice of duotones. I might experiment with broadening the tonality, fooling with the duotone curves, or trying on some shadow/highlight changes to see if some of the dark areas can be brought out, just a touch.

The main cloud looks like a samurai, faced away from us, holding out his draped right arm and bowing his head slightly. His left hand is on his hip. I might crop just below the main cloud. The clouds below belong to a different story.
