a lot better than the original, but overall a bit dark. had also cropped off the right quarter to get rid of the "bar" sign (even if that makes sense in a way). soft focus would have been good, to keep the "blurry" part

excellent and more! I once tried to shoot toilet paper rolls, but miserably failed. this is great, only nitpick would be the crumples in the leaf bottom right. 10

yes, it's a flower and it is pretty, but it's far away of being a rendition of the brown ribbon shot. besides that, you seem to have had a problem with white balance.
