Innocenceby NowaytotellComment: Looks like you have a beautiful dog!!:o) I think maybe positioning his paws in the lower left corner and the back end in the top right corner would have been a more interesting composition :o) You have captured some lovely detail but with the Best of Challenge there was a certain amount of WOW factor needed in the shots and unfortunately I think this is what is lacking here....this is just my opinion :o) |

Curls Galoreby NowaytotellComment: Looks like you have a great subject here! For me the lighting on the face is way too harsh and I am not sure I like the orientation. Maybe this would have been better with the girl in portrait format rather than horizontal? :o) |

I hate fixing fence.....by NowaytotellComment: Possibly a little more thought about composition would have helped you here. If you had gone over to the fence and taken a shot looking along it this may have been interesting, varying your depth of field could have added even more interest and most of all this would have meant you didnt have so much of the blown out sky :o) |

Twinsby NowaytotellComment: Well you have achieved the centered composition but for me this image has no real interest. Finding an interesting subject is not always easy but you need to give the viewer something that really draws the eye in :o) |

The newspaper business is pressingby NowaytotellComment: A really interesting piece of machinery! I think you could have done so much more with this. Just a couple of ideas would be a different angle rather than straight on and maybe converting it to sepia to give it an old feel would have worked nicely :o) |

Brown in the basementby NowaytotellComment: I see what you were trying to capture here, there is nice browns in the wood but unfortunately unless you are Bear Musics friend Jim the subject is quite boring. Maybe concentrating on an interesting piece of the wood and focusing on that whilst having the background out of focus would have helped this shot (just my humble opinion) :o) |

It'll only hurt for a minute!by NowaytotellComment: Well not sure why people didn't get this at the time! I knew straight away what you were going for and never once thought the needle and thread was to do with the baby but definitely the mother! A very good cliche and sorry this didn't score higher! :o) |

Day "branching" into nightby NowaytotellComment: You have exposed the sun nicely here and created a good silhouette with the branches but for me this is a little too busy. Just isolating the branches and losing the building would work better in my opinion :o) |

Rainy night chimesby NowaytotellComment: I think this is a really neat idea. The thing that lets the image down, for me, is the focus. All of the shoes needed to be in sharp focus for this to work. I think the background works well, just get the shoes in focus and you'd have scored much better (in my opinion) :o) |

A Hard Hitby NowaytotellComment: I like the lighting and detail here but as is mentioned below the background is a little busy. Maybe by using a larger aperture (small number) and creating a shallower depth of field you could have blurred some of the background and had the viewers eye more concentrated on the batsman (?) :o) |
