Self Portait 2by BenComment: Great lighting, detail and processing. The BW suits the subject nicely. For some reason I want to see less of the shoulders and more of the eyes, but thats probably just me! |

real man's choice.by kundimansabuwanComment: Again a great use of depth of field here and the focus on the bottle is excellent. I have to agree with some of your commenters, the lighting on the 'man' is quite harsh and may have lost you a few points but other than that, good work! :o) |

m i x t u r eby kundimansabuwanComment: What a brilliant idea! I love your composition and the purple stands out nicely. The only thing that is a little distracting is I am not sure where your focus is. For me the purple should be your main point of focus but this doesnt look quite sharp enough in my opinion :o) |

diferent lines in line...by kundimansabuwanComment: I can see your lines here and like your post processing. The only thing I would have changed would slightly quicker shutter speed. The 'whites' of the lights are a little too blown out :o) |

"Old Haven"by kundimansabuwanComment: A well taken night image, you have set a good exposure making sure the lights on the buildings aren't blown out which is good. I love the low position you have as the viewer gets to see the detail and colours of the rope as well as the great backdrop. Well done :o) |

...@#$%$$$@## ...by kundimansabuwanComment: Hi Victor, excellent idea! Such a shame you didn't get your original image in on time, at least you have learnt for the future! You seem to have got the hang of your depth of field and used it nicely here in this image. The image matches the challenge title nicely and had you submitted the original (and it been approved) I think this shot would have done very well :o) |

My Passion My Lifeby sherpetComment: Greetings from the Critique Club Shez!!
I am not sure I can say anything other that FANTASTIC!! A beautiful composition with wonderful colours that just pull the viewer in! I suppose the one and only 'negative' thing I can say about the image is that 'technically' (to all the DNMC voters) this doesn't strictly meet the challenge title. But, that said, your explanation tells us straight away the reason why this SHOULD fit the challenge!
Another lovely image from a lovely lady. Thank you for sharing this :o)

The Clumsy Gardenerby GiorgioComment: Greetings from the Critique Club and a Happy New Year Giorgio!
Congratulations on your Top 10 finish!
Composition:
I\'m not sure how to critique this image! I think your composition is excellent. Your pose really made me laugh, definitely that of someone who needs a change of career!
Technicals:
The HDR effect you have going here really suits the image and with the leafless trees the colours and tones your post processing has given really make the image come to life! Not really a lot else I can say about this!
Sorry for such a short critique!

"Dogs"by chelsearocksComment: Greetings from the Critique Club and Best wishes for the New Year Chelsea!
Composition:
I don't know very much about Pink Floyd so can't really comment on your choice of song! I am afraid I would have to agree with one of your commenters below, this has more of a 'snapshot' appearance than that of a well thought out and composed image. I am sure it is difficult to get animals to do anything we want them to do but I would have tried to get them to 'pose' for this shot, be it sitting or standing, and maybe have them slightly off centre.
Technicals:
For me what lets this image down most is the lighting. The sky is far too blown out and the dogs are far too dark. Can I ask what mode you had your camera in? (auto, aperture priority, shutter priority, manual?) You have the same camera as me and I tend to shoot in either Aperture Priority or Manual. I feel this gives me the most control over the 'settings'. I am also wondering what you have your white balance set to as I too can see the blue 'cast' that one of your commenters mentions. You have also used a circular polariser, this doesn't seem to have had an effect on the image. You may know this already but it doesnt hurt to repeat it, your polariser will work best when the sun is at 90 degrees to your camera.
