Goldstream-4.jpgby VanBergenComment: Hi again! Thanks for updating the shot with the settings. I am glad to read you used a tripod :o) I am just getting used to photographing water/waterfalls but for an image like this I would definitely have said a smaller Aperture, possibly F16 if possible and a much slower shutter speed would firstly help you to get more detail in the surroundings but also give a better flow to the water. I feel the water is a little too 'white' and has the appearence of being a block rather than a flow of water. Hope this makes sense :o) |

tyredby silverfoxxComment: Greetings from the Critique Club Svetlana!
First of all congratulations on your highest scoring image to date :o)
I'd also like to add now that I am by no means an expert with editing, infact I would say I am just a beginner so this is going to be quite hard for me to critique this image!
Composition:
I really like the idea you have here and he overall composition you have created here with the two images is good. The only thing that is slightly out of place, imho, is (as one of your commenters has said) that the tyre is at an angle and the 'model' is in a more upright position which makes it slightly unrealistic.
Technicals:
As I have said above I can't really comment on your editing steps. All I feel I can do is point out a few things that I can see that 'bug' me. First of all the editing marks (?) around the top of the middle tyre are very distracting and secondly the hair from the model on the outside of the tyre looks completely unreal to me.

Battery Life On Mars!by wingyisleedsComment: Greetings from the Critique Club Keith!!
Well, how's that for coincidence!! Hope you are keeping well :o)
Composition:
I really like the idea you 'stumbled' across here. I may have been tempted to put the word 'life' in a semi circle around the 'planet' to give more of a 'life on' impact. Also, for me, I would like to have seen a little more clearly that the word 'Life' was made from batteries so possibly a different angle would have shown this offer better?
Technicals:
I'd like to know why you chose to use your kit lens and not your new macro for this challenge? I can't wait to see some macro stuff from you soon! This shot seems a little out of focus to me. Do you use a tripod? Also, although the colour on the 'planet' is good I think the lighting on the batteries is a bit dull and could possibly have benefited from a small lamp directly on them? (just my humble opinion!)
If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.
