Wow this is a really amazing photograph and I dont even like snakes. The textures and detail in ths skin are great, I like how you can see every scale and and the detail in the flower on the upper portion.

I think you did a really good job portraying depth with the DOF you used in this photo, the blurred lower flower vs the clear foreground snake gives ths feeling. The colors and tones are really nice, just a suggestion to darken the white area on the snake a bit right behind the head if possible. Seems just a bit over bright only in that area(JMO).

Very Nice Photo.

I didnt vote in this challenge, but I will give some insite on what I see.

First I like the fact you are down low on your sons level it gives the proper perspective of where you want to shoot a baby/toddler from. I can see the sharpness in the photo, but I think you needed a wider apreture to get more of the face in focus. The fact that you dont see his eyes really doesnt bother me too much thought it may have been nice to see the catchlights for a more realistic view.

There is a slight color cast on the right side of the childs head, this is normally caused by different lighting temperature from the flash vs another light in the room.

I like the DOF other than what I mentioned above and the tonality in the photo.

This image is very interesting, the texture on the building is really cool. I find the door very inviting for some odd reason even though the building is run down and old.

Technicals, I like the composition of the photo, the positioning of the door in the photo and the entry way of the door gives this photo alot of depth in a shallow frame. I like the sharpness, details and textures of the photo like I said above. The processing of it is really nice. I think the thing that really does it for me is the old weathered door with the cross in it though, it really speaks to me.

Overall, the weathered, battered, look of this photo, the old dryer, the mishung planters, the rusty metal give me a really weathered old photo a feel of unwarering love of god.

Lets start with the technicals, the contrasts are great the tonal range of your blacks and greys really make this photo pop with interest. The shadows that are created by the building in the background give it depth. Also a slight diagonal off the columns in the back ground give you some depth.

The sharpness of the photo is the second thing I notice, very detailed and crisp. I like the texture in the little girls dress and the fine detail in the hair on all people in the frame. Your composition is good I really like the little girl in the center.

Overall I think it is a great street candid, it is a very nice image.

I really like the desat on this photo, it really makes the small boys facial expression pop! I like the crop that you have used in the shot, it keeps the attention on the boy as he is on the left verticle 3rd of the photo along with the brown eyes drawing you there first. The expression really speaks in this photo.

The lighting looks like it was done with the avialable light of the outdoors. The boys shoulder is a bit blown out along with some points in the hair. Overall very good composition and framing, good DOF, and sharp and clear in the details such as facial features and the stands of hair.

Hi Chris,

This image works really well in B&W, I really like the reflection captured in the water and how the pond gives you a diagonal to lead you into the frame. This has a really trqnquil feel to it.

Very good job handling the exposure as the whites are nicely done, The detail and sharpness of the individual trees is really good to the shadows and blacks are very well done.

I think this idea could be a nice holiday photo.

Hi Jan,

The first thing I said to myself when I opend the photo up was wow look at that sky, the sky is very beautiful. There is a bit of noise in it right above the center of the stadium, you could probably fix this with a duplicate layer and gaussian blur in photoshop. I would also suggest a slight crop on the left side to get rid of the second hot spot that lays on the boarders edge.

Your colors and tones are really good, I can tell by the lines that it is artifical turf, Once you get your 40d like we were talking about, you may want to try zooming in a bit more to have more empisis on the players on the field. This would add a bit of visual interest in the foreground.

Overall, the composition is good for this photo, there is a good blend of the field the stands and the sky, just my opnion but I reallythink the the sky overpowers the rest of the shot as it is that beautiful.

I really like the shadows/lighting on this one, it gives me a real moody feeling to it. Highlights seem a bit blown on the centered flower near the center and pulp. Overall great detail and exposure, really like the sharpness of the center of the frame.

Very nice color and sharpness to the flower, I love the color and detail of the pulp. Very nice DOF in this shot, the sharpness provides a really nice texture on each of the individual petals. the only suggestion I have for you would be to clone the purple flower in the upper right out because as my eye is looking at the upper petals the other flower competes.

I really like the positioning of the tree vs the ruins in this image, it really gives a good feel for depth and the placements give a interesting composition. The photo overall is nice and sharp, perhaps a bit more contrast to pop it will make the rocks and tree trunk stand out a bit.
